Player characters as Heroes !!!
Wouldnt it be awesome if you could choose your other characters as heroes?
It makes no sense to be able to choose the "real" heroes and not choose the heroes you have put blood sweat and tears into getting level 20, proper gear and skills.
I just think it would be really awesome.

I think this is what they have planned for GW2:
Quote:
Companions
The system of companions and allies is being reworked. Companions will have customization similar to Heroes. Players will be allowed to bring a single companion with them, who will not take up a party slot and are considered an extension of the character. When a player chooses not to bring a companion, their character will instead be buffed so that they will not be disadvantaged by not bringing a companion.
|
So you may be able to customize them like actual player characters. Unfortunately, something this big isn't likely to happen in GW1, but we can look forward to something like that in GW2.

Actually it's not a bad idea But of course it is difficult to make. The heroes will have to fit with the gear of that character and since many has more than 1 armor set and weapon set, having the right equipment on that character is difficult to create. Of course if they made it like the are equipped with items that are independent of the ones on your actual character (As in your warrior has a ball hammer and templar armor, whereas that character as a hero for your ranger has charr hide armor a long sword and a crude shield), then it would be easier to make

Wait, so If I'm interpreting this right we're swapping the pregenerated heroes for basically the same thing but with the face and name of our character? If I don't get to see the armor and weapons I have on my characters, /notsigned.

No instead of a hero, your other characters are displayed with the same armor, weapons and skills as they have when you play on them

Highly unlikely. But I wish it were possible. That way I can play the quad-gay paragon team. Defeating charr with an extra ounce of PINK!

Not in my book, because in most cases (not talking about this particular idea) suggestions are simply not possible, or not wanted. Posting in an earlier thread would show this to the OP, which would prevent his suggestion from recieving the same "can't be done", "won't be done" "you suck" all over again.

Plus I know I posted in a thread like this several months ago, and it's not even the one that Arduinna linked to.
I'm not against this, I think I may have /signed the other one, but at this point I'd much rather see better skill balance than messing with new hero availability.
EDIT: just for reference, here's the link of the one I mentioned.

Better to read and follow the rules than to ignore and break them.
